The Three Worlds – Allegory of Vanity / Forget Heaven / Vanity of Allegory is a massive new release from Anemone Tube, a look through their past going as far back as the late nineties, which includes some of their impossible to find early cassette material. It also features outtakes from the excellent Death Over China album, and pieces from the periods between, allowing the listener to appreciate the evolution of the project through waves of dissonant noise, powerful rhythms and ritual elements.
The Three Worlds takes its inspiration from “a cosmological treatise on the universe from the Theravada Buddhism of the 14th century, the subject matter of which is the description of three levels of existence of all beings and mythical creatures.” It is about transience on many levels, a combination of sound and philosophy.
The album is also a visual feast, each one of the three CDs coming in its own slipcase, each with a booklet of art by photographer Dario Lehner. Lehner’s visuals are complex and complementary to the themes of the music.../HeatenHarvest2017
